02/07/10- Hello all! What a great start to a new year! We have a lot of new things in the works for Zeist Armories in 2010. We have inproved our design of of custom deBraga swords and mentor. This is called the Gen4. These new swords now offer the core as an optional upgrade to save a couple dollars for only interest in the good looks of these swords. Without the core you can still go back and cut your water jugs, pool noodles and other light targets. With the core option you get the great performance and strength our handle are known for. Also the handles are now removable! Yes thats right REMOVABLE! The swords are mounted with a removable delrin pin and the tsuka will slide off... well not that easy. in order to remove the handle you will need to use the proper tools and technique. We off a kit from musashi that can be used for that purpose or we will soon offer our own gen4 maintenence kits. These can be found in our blade care section. Mr deBraga has also agreed to do some limited edition runs of some swords to come out later this year. So keep your eyes peeled.
Also your see our new website design, and alot of new products. We are trying to offer something for everyone. So again stay tuned and don't change that channel....
~Team Zeist.
12/14/09 - Hello all from Zeist! Just figured I'd drop in and touch base with you all. 1st and foremost the za custom swords and debraga sword shop will be closed from Dec 20 to Jan 2. The Zeist Armories staff will be off dec 24-26 and dec 31- Jan 2. The webstore will always be open to take orders and questions will be answered. It's been a busy last 2 months... and we could use the break.
The masmune is still on hold up do to fitment issues and Final molding. I and the guys here at zeist are very excited and ready to get these swords out, but.... they have to meet a minimum standard of performance prior to production. And untill that is met, we will keep working.
We have a couple of clips of our first cutting test with the Dark Master katana on you tube. we should be posting a link on the page here soon. We hope you all enjoy the comedy of our infancy.
Our good friend and fellow Zeistian Jason Dingledine has left on deployemnt and will be back in time for spring. We wish him well and a safe return. We have many projects in line and in were working on those when he had to leave. We will coninue working on those and having communication with Jason when he is available.
Well for now that is about it... Enjoy the holidays...
~Mike
10/27/09- Greetings from Zeist! This is the first of our "news & updates" section check back often!
Ok guys and gals, lots of cool stuff a buzz in the shop. First please welcom Jason Dingledine to the shop. He was owner of Tiger claw forge and a former employee of albion. Jason brings with him a vast knowledge of sword making we could all learn from. Jason has come to Zeist to continue his swords designs. The first you will see is the "Adam Sword" modeled after the 80's cartoon He-man, Take a look in our zeist swords section to see pics.
Things have been going well with the munetoshi line sale! These are some great swords, and we plan on having them as long as I can get them in. We have been in discussion on dropping the hanwei swords due to the lack of interest in them and the increasing interest in the munetoshi. And In response to the demand we are working on some cutting videos with those swords along with our debraga swords. I still don't have a date on those yet...
The debraga swords are our true top sellers. There are a few more things coming off Jose's work bench for zeist that will blow your mind. I still can't say much but I can say it involves an eagle, a wolf and a renegade.. oh hell yeah...
Lastly Masamune Update .. We have finalized the guards and the pins. We are working to finalize some fitment issues with the tsuka. We are doing everything we can to get this out before the holidays, keep your fingers crossed and your heads on your shoulders....
